My curriculum aligns with the Kentucky Early Learning Standards and allows your child the opportunity to explore, observe and experiment in a structured yet choice based environment. The learning environment encourages him/her to ask questions, make conclusions and develop independence. Large group activities, small group activities will stimulate their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
I believe that all children need to be given the tools to succeed! I feel strongly that children learn from lots of life experiences, their general knowledge of the world and by doing rather than being told to do.
Our Curriculum will help each child learn and develop the skills necessary for success in kindergarten and later in life. Our curriculum consists of Circle Time, Cognitive & Language, Music & Movement , Literacy & Books, Sensory & Art, Math & Science, Small & Large Muscle Activities, Simple activities are suggested in each of those categories. Our group will have fun while learning and they will build a desire to learn which will be their key to success later in life.
Children learn by doing and learn best when allowed to explore their world using all their senses in a safe and nurturing environment. A mixture of structured and non structured activity time is planned and children are able to experiment with all materials available to them at their own pace. Children participate as little or as much as they wish.
The curriculum is geared toward helping children develop habits of observation, questioning, and listening. It gives them awareness of their own feelings and of their right to express those feelings. An open-ended program like one I am using prepares children to realize their intellectual and creative abilities in future learning task. I look forward to our continued partnership in the care of your child(ren).
Sincerely, Susan
